Daily job responsibilities:

  • Answer client (student and instructor) customer service queries, by phone and email
  • Create tickets and tracking for all newly reported issues using ZenDesk
  • Make outbound calls to existing clients for confirmation of upcoming class start dates/enrollment
  • Conduct demonstrations of HOL's digital platform for instructors and institutions
  • Research and converse with current clients, to evaluate additional opportunities within their organization
  • Provide basic scientific support to manager, sales representatives, and institutional faculty, staff, and administration when selecting product for adoption
  • Follow up with all institutions, to confirm a smooth process and to assist with any issues
  • Demonstrate outstanding product knowledge to position HOL as the leading subject matter expert in our field of online and distance-learning science education
  • Assist in development and tracking of marketing campaigns as needed
  • Work with sales manager and sales representative to develop short and long term goals for growth within existing client institutions
  • Coordinate with institutional clients on HOL product costs for students
  • Develop working relationships with bookstores linked to client institutions to facilitate a smooth student ordering process
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • College degree preferred, science degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a role that serviced or supported the selling of products to educational institutions or related customer service/support work experience.
  • Strong customer service skills, must enjoy daily contact with clients via email and over the phone.
  • Ability to handle customer issues and questions in a positive manner, creating a positive experience for our clients
  • Experience in achieving or exceeding client and company revenue targets.
  • Ability to follow up and stay current on multiple tasks or deadlines simultaneously.
  • Science education aptitude is preferable at the secondary or post-secondary level.
  • Exposure to a small or medium sized, growing company environment and culture.

 General Skills

  • Proficiency in Oracle or Dynamics CRM, MS Office Suite, Internet, ZenDesk and SharePoint. Experience with large data sharing tools helpful, such as SendThisFile.com.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Above average listening skills and able to deal with difficult people and customer service issues while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, frequently changing working environment.
  • Solid math and computational skills.
  • Aptitude to quickly learn company products, services, and general operations.
  • Ability to interpret scientific and educational information into client solutions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Occasional travel may be required to academic conferences.
